Project Overview

Originally, event materials were designed in-house by the Fund Advancement team, but as The Garden Party grew in popularity, the Marketing team was brought in to elevate its visual presence. Given the event’s casual yet upscale atmosphere, I introduced an illustrative design style that reflects the sophistication of the food and wine pairings while capturing the warmth of an outdoor garden gathering—all within Bluestem Communities’ brand colors.

My Role

I own concept, design and print production, ensuring every detail aligns with the event’s refined aesthetic. My responsibilities include:

  • Creating original artwork that embodies the event’s theme

  • Designing a cohesive suite of materials, including:

    • Invitations with matching envelopes.

    • RSVP cards with return envelopes.

    • Individual table tasting notes featuring sponsor recognition.

    • Table tents and a welcome sign to highlight sponsors

    • Email graphics for event promotions.

      • Managing print quotes, production, and timelines to ensure a seamless rollout.

Bluestem Communities’ Fund Advancement team hosts several fundraisers each year to support three resident-focused benevolent funds. These funds provide financial assistance to residents who, for various reasons, can no longer cover the full cost of their care.

One of the signature events, The Garden Party, is an elegant yet relaxed gathering that raises funds specifically for Schowalter Villa health care residents. Held in the picturesque backyard of a local community member, guests enjoy an evening of gourmet appetizers paired with complementary wines while mingling in a charming outdoor setting.
